THE IPMM COLLECTION :: 01/04/2013 - 01/16/2013
IPaintMyMind’s mission is 501(c)3 nonprofit public arts media group and advocacy organization. IPMM believes in serving as a conduit for artists to make their art viable. We want to encourage and help grow a climate in which artists and artwork are valued and supported. IPMM’s role is to expose people to inspiring art, music, and culture, not to sell your eyeballs to the highest bidder - thus, the fact that there are no advertisements on our website, ever.
You can be sure that the reason we feature something on IPaintMyMind.org or at one of our events, is because we think it’s fantastic. In facilitating artist-direct sales, we hope to help the artists’ we love by connecting them with you, the public! If you enjoy the art or music you find on IPMM, go their website and buy something cool already! OK?! We also accept donations to cover our costs, only of course, if you appreciate what we do.
The collection we’ve curated for the Galerie F show represents a cross-section of the screen prints, artists and printers we love. It includes work by Daniel Danger, Sam Flores, Jermaine Rogers, Zach Johnsen, Tara McPherson, Dan Grzeca, Justin Santora, Vidhya Nagarajan, and Iain Macarthur. Artwork printed by Fugscreens, Steve Walters’ Screwball Press, and many more.

Galerie F Exclusive :: Charles Darwin :: 11/23/12
Charles Darwin laid the foundation for evolutionary biology with his scientific essay entitled On the Origin of Species, published on November 24th 1859. In celebration of this historic progression we have assembled a group of print makers and designers to create a group of exclusive art prints. Michael Hacker of Vienna Austria, John Vogl of Denver Colorado, and two Chicago-local designers – Shawn Roberts and Gregory Oberle, have crafted small edition print runs to be released in pairs of two. The first exclusive release is set for Tuesday November 13th, and the second on Tuesday November 20th. Two art prints will be released on each Tuesday at 2PM CST. This is a part of the Galerie F Exclusive series, a monthly release of art prints and gig posters sold exclusively through the Galerie F store in Chicago and online webstore.
No We Can’t, It Looks Underwater :: 11/16/12
Adam Hanson is a designer, illustrator, and printmaker based out of Chicago, IL. An avid music lover, he has created screen printed gig posters and merchandise for a number of bands, including The Hold Steady, The Get Up Kids, & The Crystal Method. Clients also include Design Bureau Magazine, Columbia College, and Socialogic. When he’s not working, he’s probably watching campy horror movies or enjoying a glass of Sailor Jerry.
“No We Can’t, It Looks Underwater” is the debut solo show from Adam Hanson. This collection of still lifes if made up of Victorian era antiques presented in a pop art context. Adam illustrates these images utilizing his signature style; a limited palette of bold colors, intricate halftone patterns, and a refined cartoon aesthetic.

Send Me Your Pigeons :: 07/20/12 - 08/31/12
Send Me Your Pigeons is a showcase of printmakers under the theme of “communication and community.” The show title is a riff on the complications of communication with modern technology with the implication that pigeons are more reliable than Internet or phone communications. Printmaking is a form of expression that thrives on reception and interaction with outside viewers; it is a form of art surviving through communication. We want to unite the artists with their audience, the language with the work, and the local community with the national community.
This show is a literal representation of the possibility of art and community transcending distance. We bring you three major artists from across the nation – John Vogl of The Bungaloo from the west, Landland from the Midwest, and Casey Burns from the east. These artists all maintain an intimate tactile process in their printmaking, from translating watercolor paintings to working closely with hand-drawn sketches. The show’s theme draws together their unique printmaking styles under the context of community and accessibility.
